HEP Existential Perspective

In the evolutionary crisis of 20th © Western culture, the existential, phenomenological and humanistic traditions have provided a ground for both challenging the simplistic inhumanities of the culture, but also, through existential psychology and the arts, suggesting an authentic way through. We will look at how this translates into a psychotherapeutic model, drawing also on the Romantic tradition. It will include the existentialism of gestalt, the transpersonal aspect of existentialism, as delineated by, for example, Schneider, Bugental and Heidegger, and various existential mysticisms, such as the apophatic tradition.
