Developmental Psychology - Lifespan Theories
Developmental Psychology is a vast area of study, which historically addressed the challenges of infancy and early childhood. Over time it expanded to include adolescence, adult development and aging. Today developmental theory includes all ages and stages, and addresses the movement of change in all areas of human growth. These include: motor skills and other psycho-physiological processes; cognitive development such as problem solving; conceptual understanding; language acquisition; social, personality, and emotional development; moral evolution; identity formation; and spiritual maturation. In this course we will touch on the developmental theories that have most influenced the growth of psychology, and work our way towards current-day transpersonal developmental theory. Sally Johnson
